Career
Although a rough start—she was arrested for being a minor at an underground disco—didn’t help her career, by 1989 she had a regular gig on the television series, The Wonder Years. Lewis’ co-starring role in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989) was achieved after a year of filming.
At the age of 18, she was cast as Danielle Bowden in Cape Fear, which was her first big break. Juliette Lewis was soon offered multiple acting opportunities thanks to this great role. Below is a list of her early movies that are considered to be the most famous.
Juliette and the Licks had Juliette Lewis as their lead singer. She started this band in 2003 when she realized she was becoming bored with screen acting and wanted to try out live performance. Paul III, Patty Schemel, and Todd Morse were among the other band members at the inception. ‘You’re Speaking My Language’ was the band’s debut album released in 2004. The band embarked on a tour after the release of this album.
Lewis’ career took a downspin from a lack of starring roles in major films and it seemed she had dropped out of Hollywood radar, but she has begun to work her way back with supporting roles in major motion pictures such as Cold Creek Manor (2003), Starsky & Hutch (2004), Whip It (2009), The Switch (2010), Due Date (2010), Foreverland (2012), Open Road (2013), and August: Osage County (2013). Several TV series, such as The Firm, based on John Grisham’s bestselling novel, Wayward Pines, and Secrets and Lies, have had her as a recurring character.
