Biography

Her parents were a Korean father and an Afro-Jamaica mother when she was born on October 1st, 1996. She received her birth certificate from the Mandeville Regional Hospital in Mandeville, Jamaica. Despite her mother’s name being Castilyn Eleanor Williams, she has never had the chance to meet her father.

Shenseea went to Mona High School before enrolling in Exced Community College and obtaining a degree in entertainment management.

Personal Life

Shenseea had a son named Rajeiro Lee when she was 19 years old before her singing career started in 2015. The father of her child is Rob Lee, and Romeich Major has taken on the role of a father figure to her child.

Babybop Kids Store signed her son to an endorsement contract when he was four years old in 2020.

She had relationships with 21 Savage (2019), Rvssian (2019), Romeich (2017-2018), and London on da Track.

Shenseea made her music journey start with an Acapella rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘Greatest Love of All’. On her first attempt, she succeeded in nailing the performance. She continued to develop her voice by listening to American pop, R&B, and Soul Music after that.

Lemuel Samuel’s Rockstar music label signed Shenseea after she had been a significant musician for a few years. Reggae Sumfest in 2015 saw her gain attention for singing on a side stage and remixing Vybz Kartel’s Loodi on the Reggae Sumfest stage.

At the 2016 Youth View Awards, she was recognized as Young Hot and Hype Artiste, Breakout Artist of 2016, and Collaboration of the Year for her single Loodi, which was produced in collaboration with Vybz Kartel. Pure Souls and Ok Ok Pt 2 from Kanye West’s Donda album were recorded by Shenseea and Roddy Ricch, with Shenseea contributing vocals. At Kanye West’s Donda concert in Chicago, she also made an appearance on stage. She gained her first Grammy nomination for her contributions to Kanye West‘s record when she was nominated for Album of the Year at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022 as a featured artist.
