Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy, who was born on September 6, 1958, is an American entertainer known for his work in comedy, acting, author, radio and television host, and writing. He is well-known for being included in the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and former Ron White. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded him triple Platinum certification for his first two albums. In addition, he has written several books that revolve around his redneck jokes and an autobiography called ‘No Shirt, No Shoes… No Problem!’

Biography

September 6, 1958 was the date of Jeffrey Marshall Foxworthy’s birth in Atlanta, Georgia. Jimmy Abstance Foxworthy and Carole Linda Foxworthy were the parents of his first child. Jeff had two younger siblings, Jennifer and Jay, during his childhood. IBM had a senior-level corporate position where his father worked. Jeff’s family disintegrated when he was nine, and his mother struggled to care for him and his siblings.

Jeff finished his high school education at Hapeville High School, where he was recognized for being the class clown. He continued his education at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Nevertheless, he departed before completing his degree.

Personal Life

A comedy club in Atlanta is where Jeff and Pamela Gregg first met. Their marriage took place on September 18, 1985, and they have two daughters, Jordan (1992) and Julianne (1994).

Career

Foxworthy spent five years working at IBM as a mainframe computer maintenance technician. Afterwards, he gave up his job and became a full-time comedian. Starting with comedy albums, he then went on to star in his first TV show, The Jeff Foxworthy Show. In the beginning, his humor was centered around his family and everyday life. Soon after, he discovered his well-known line ‘You might be a redneck if…’ His net worth is estimated at 100 million dollars and he has become one of the most successful stand-up comedians.

Foxworthy has produced a total of six comedy albums. He sold more than three million copies of his debut book, You Might Be a Redneck If… (1993). Platinum was certified multiple times for both his first and second albums. Other titles that received platinum and gold status were Games Rednecks Play (1995) and Totally Committed (1998).

Bill Engvall, Ron White, and Larry the Cable Guy were also members of Foxworthy’s Blue Collar Comedy Tour. From 2000 to 2006, they performed stand-up comedy together on tour. Foxworthy’s career was revitalized and the tour was a great success. Another TV show was also influenced by it.

The tremendous popularity of the comedy tour inspired the group to release three DVD movies : ‘Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie’ (2003), ‘Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again’ (2004), and ‘Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road ‘ (2006). From September 2009 to March 2011, he was the host of the syndicated version of the quiz game show, ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?’ Foxworthy and Jeff worked together to produce and host the biblical-themed game show ‘The American Bible Challenge’ for two seasons. Additionally, they hosted the food reality show ‘The American Baking Competition’ in 2013.
