Biography
On March 3, 1998, Jayson Tatum, who was born to Justin Tatum and Brandy Cole, was named Jayson Christopher Tatum. At the age of 19, both of his parents were not married to each other and he was conceived. At the time of his birth, his mother made the decision to raise him as a single mother. Nonetheless, his father was always available to provide support for them.
His father, Justin, was a basketball player who played for ‘St. Louis University. Later on, he landed a job as a gym teacher and basketball coach at ‘Christian Brothers College High School’ in St. Louis.

Career
Jayson matriculated at Duke University in 2016 and missed some games in the beginning of his first college season (2016–2017) because of a foot injury. December 2016 was the date he made his debut. He scored 10 points in his debut match and helped his team win against Maine.
His consistent performance over the next few weeks helped him lead his team to victories over major teams like Florida, Georgia Tech, and Miami. In March 2017, the Duke Blue Devils team made it to the ACC Tournament Championship finals. Duke was victorious in the finals against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to win the championship.
