Biography

On January 10, 1974 in Masterton, New Zealand, Jemaine Clement (full name Jemaine Atheist Mahana Clemente) was born. Mad Dog and Hiphopopotamus are also common nicknames for him. Marianne Clement was solely responsible for raising him; his father Robert Clement was not a part of his upbringing. In addition, there are two brothers who cannot be identified online.

Following graduation from high school, Jemaine Clement matriculated at Makoura College in Masterton. In addition to studying theatre and film, he also attended Victoria University of Wellington.

Career

In 1996, Jemaine Clement’s first onscreen appearance was in The Enid Blyton Adventure Series. In 1999, he made an appearance in the short film Fizz. Between 2002 and 2005, he appeared in five TV and film productions as an actor. After performing on HBO’s One Night Stand in 2005, Jemaine and McKenzie were given the opportunity to create their own 12-part series called Flight of the Conchords.

Bret Peter Tarrant McKenzie was Jemaine Clement’s partner in starting the comedy group Flight of the Conchords while they both still attended college. Folk the Globe Tour, the duo’s first live CD, came out in 2002. Their first release was an EP called ‘The Distant Future’ in 2007, followed by their studio album ‘Flight of the Conchords’ in 2008. 2009 saw the release of their second album, which was entitled ‘I Told You I Was Freaky’.
