Danielle Fishel started working in theater when she was ten years old, performing in stage productions of ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Subsequently, she embarked on a career in commercials and voice-over recordings. Afterwards, she appeared on two episodes of the television series ‘Full House’. Fishel became known for her portrayal of Topanga Lawrence-Matthews on ABC’s ‘Boy Meets World’ in 1993.

Topanga’s initial intention was to play a small role, but she became a recurring role and then a regular on the show. The nerdy Stuart Minkus was replaced by her intelligent and mature character who was known for being the brains of the class. Boy Meets World came to an end in 2000 after a seven-year run.

By being featured on the cover of Seventeen in December 1998 and receiving a 1998 Young Star award for her performance in a comedy TV series, Fishel was able to gain recognition.
