Biography
Antonio and Francesca, who worked as dressmakers, were the parents of Donatella Francesca Versace, who was born on May 2, 1955, in Reggio Calabria, Italy. Her family had four children, with her being the youngest. In 1973, she began studying languages at Florence University in Italy. Her brother Gianni, who had a close relationship with her, encouraged her to pursue a career in fashion.
During her studies at the University of Florence, she concentrated on languages and the arts, which allowed her creative talents to flourish. Donatella was only able to find her true place in the fashion world after moving to Milan in the late 1970s. Assisting with design and public relations, she became a key member of the Versace brand while working alongside her brother Gianni.
Personal Life
Allegra (born 1986) and Daniel (born 1989) are the two children that Donatella and American model Paul Beck had when they tied the knot in 1983. The couple ended their relationship in 2000.

Career
When Gianni founded Versace in 1978, Donatella joined him in starting her career. Her initial intention was to handle public relations, but she quickly became a crucial part of the creative process. In 2008, London’s Fashion Fringe appointed her as its honorary chairman. Colin McDowell and IMG Fashion collaborated on the ‘Fashion Fringe’ initiative to aid emerging designers. In 2009, Donatella requested the revival of ‘Versus’ from Scottish designer Christopher Kane.
