Jemaine Clement has worked in the field of acting, voice acting, music, comedy, singing, direction, and writing in New Zealand. He lends his voice to Kerry Moonbeam, who is acknowledged for singing ‘Mr. Universe’. He is widely recognized for his collaboration with Bret McKenzie to form the comedy music duo Flight of the Conchords. He is also known as the voice of Nigel in Rio and Rio 2, Doctor Zone/Orton Mahlson in Milo Murphy’s Law, Jerry the Minion in Despicable Me, The Fleshlumpeater in The BFG, Tamatoa in Moana, and acted as the Prison King in Muppets Most Wanted.

Biography

On January 10, 1974 in Masterton, New Zealand, Jemaine Clement (full name Jemaine Atheist Mahana Clemente) was born. Mad Dog and Hiphopopotamus are also common nicknames for him. Marianne Clement was solely responsible for raising him; his father Robert Clement was not a part of his upbringing. In addition, there are two brothers who cannot be identified online.

Following graduation from high school, Jemaine Clement matriculated at Makoura College in Masterton. In addition to studying theatre and film, he also attended Victoria University of Wellington.

In 1996, Jemaine Clement’s first onscreen appearance was in The Enid Blyton Adventure Series. In 1999, he made an appearance in the short film Fizz.
