Biography
February 19, 1995 was the date of Joki’s birth in Sombor, Serbia. His family consisted of his parents, grandmother, and two older brothers who lived in a small apartment. Nemanja and Strahinja are his older brothers. He fell in love with the game after his brothers introduced him to it.
Joki was a member of the Vojvodina Srbijagas youth basketball team. Bigger clubs showed interest in him and he chose Mega Basket as his club during the summer of 2012. He was selected 41st overall in the 2014 NBA Draft after declaring for the draft after two seasons of playing. During the 2014-2015 season, he played for Serbia and was awarded the MVP award in the ABA League.

Career
In 2012, Jokić became a pro basketball player at the age of 17 when he signed a contract with KK Mega Basketball, a Serbian team that plays in the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) and the Serbian League. The majority of his first season was spent with the club’s junior team, but he did make five appearances for the senior team. However, Jokić had a larger role with the senior team the following season, playing 25 games in the ABA and 13 games in the Serbian League, averaging double figures in scoring.
Joki’s performance in the 2013-14 season was sufficient for the Denver Nuggets to select him at 41st overall in the 2014 NBA Draft. Nevertheless, he decided to stay in Europe for an additional season.
