Woody McClain, also known as ‘Woody the Great’, is an American actor, comedian and dancer who is best known for portraying American R&B and pop singer, songwriter, actor and dancer, Bobby Brown, in BET’s 2017 miniseries ‘The New Edition Story’, for which he won the ‘Black Reel Award for Television’ as the ‘Outstanding Actor, TV Movie/Limited Series’.
In 2018, he agreed to return to his role in the upcoming two-part miniseries, ‘The Bobby Brown Story’. His other acting credits include the TV series ‘Training Day’, ‘Tales’, ‘Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.’, and ‘Giants’, as well as the video shorts ‘You’re Sexist’ and ‘A Little Closure’. Chris Brown and Fifth Harmony have been his dancers when he performed.

After the video went viral on social media, Kevin Hart noticed it and decided to sign him to his production company HartBeat Digital in December 2015.
His first attempt at acting was incredibly successful when he auditioned for BET’s The New Edition Story and was given the lead role, playing Bobby Brown. Recently, he agreed to return to the role of Bobby Brown in BET’s Bobby Brown Story. He appeared on the big screen in Canal Street in February 2018 playing ‘May’.
