Biography

On January 28th, 1985, Jermaine Lamarr Cole was born in Frankfurt, Germany, where his father was stationed at the time of his birth. His father hails from African descent while his mother hails from German descent. The postal service of the United States was where she worked. Cole and his brother Zach were taken to North Carolina by Cole’s mother after his father turned his back on his family.

Cole was a shy child who was captivated by music and basketball. Playing the violin for a while was a time when he became addicted to music and dreamed of becoming a musician someday. Cole thought that a move to New York would let his musical ambitions breathe and he found the right excuse by expressing the desire to study there and majored in computer science, and kept working on his music side by side.

He quickly started posting his songs on internet sites, gaining popularity through his moniker ‘The Therapist’. His career took off after he appeared on the albums of other stars. After releasing his second mixtape, ‘The Warm Up’, Cole appeared on Jay-Z’s ‘The Blueprint 3’ (2009) and Wale’s album, ‘Attention Deficit’ (2009) on June 15, 2009.
